The New Support for Globalization!
In EPiServer 4.60 the main focus is on Globalization. You can now use EPiServer efficiently for multi-dimensional Web sites. This version includes several technical enhancements that improve the performance of large Web sites.
- Globalization is a collective name for functions that make it easy and efficient for editors to create different variations of a page. The different variations of pages are often used for different languages to create globalized Web sites, but can also be used for other purposes.
- Friendly URL It is now possible to change the former, dynamic addresses to search engine-friendly Web addresses that follow the structure of the Web site.
- Portal functionality with Web Parts support (separate download).
- Improved queue monitoring and other setup tools for mirroring.
- Enhanced documentation with new white papers and technical notes.
- Support for both ASP.NET 1.1 and ASP.NET 2.0 templates.
- Support for SQL Server 2005 (including Express).
- Miscellaneous features and bug fixes.
